Solace Weather is built around a simple principle: your personal data stays with you. This policy explains what we collect, what we don't, and why.

What We Collect

• Location — Your device's GPS coordinates are transmitted to our servers (hosted on AWS) to geocode your position and fetch a localized weather forecast. We do not store or log your location history.
• Weather data — Forecast data is fetched from our backend API and cached temporarily on your device for performance.

What Stays On Your Device

Almost every unit of personal information in Solace Weather is processed and stored entirely on-device:

• Calendar events — Your event titles, dates, times, and locations are read locally and used to generate go/no-go verdicts. This information is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.
• Verdict logic — The matching of calendar events to weather forecasts happens entirely on your device.
• Commute settings — Your commute times and home/destination addresses are stored locally in the app.

What We Don't Do

• We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
• We do not share your calendar data with third parties.
• We do not build advertising profiles.
• We do not track you across apps or websites.

Third-Party Services

Amazon Web Services (AWS) — We use AWS infrastructure for geocoding and weather API requests. Your GPS coordinates are transmitted to AWS-hosted endpoints to determine your location for weather fetching. AWS processes this data per their Privacy Policy.

Data Retention

We do not retain location data beyond the scope of a single weather request. Forecast data cached on your device is automatically expired per the app's standard cache TTLs.

Children's Privacy

Solace Weather does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll note the revision date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
